The St. John Woodchucks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their seventh straight defeat. They were the victim of a tough 71-45 defeat at the hands of North Star co-op [Cando/Bisbee-Egeland]. St. John was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-19.
St. John's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aston Parisien, who scored ten points along with five assists and three steals. Parisien is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Tayden Longie was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
St. John has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for North Star co-op [Cando/Bisbee-Egeland], the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
St. John will head out on the road to take on Dakota Prairie at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. John is coming into the game with four straight losses on the road, meaning Dakota Prairie will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. North Star co-op [Cando/Bisbee-Egeland] does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
