Mount Pleasant is 8-2 against the Rowdy Rebel Bulls since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Last Tuesday, Mount Pleasant humbled the Knights with a 71-22 victory. 71 seems to be a good number for Mount Pleasant as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, South Stanly earned a 53-42 victory over the Bulldogs on Tuesday. Given South Stanly's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 607th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Gavyn Miller continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds. Drew Gaddy was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Mount Pleasant has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season. As for South Stanly, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3.
Mount Pleasant came up short against the Rowdy Rebel Bulls in their previous matchup back in January, falling 68-60. Can Mount Pleasant avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
