In what's become a running theme this season, the Choctaw County Chargers gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 71-38 victory over Eupora. Given Choctaw County's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Eupora is ranked 249th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Choctaw County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jakarius Weaver out in front who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Weaver is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Caleb Cunningham was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Choctaw County pushed their record up to 17-4 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points per game. As for Eupora, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-15.
Choctaw County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eupora, they will be playing in front of their home fans against J.Z. George at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Eupora is facing J.Z. George at the right time seeing as J.Z. George is stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
