Shamira Morton was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 15 boards. Morton is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Dekendra Mitchell was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.
Meanwhile, Greenville came up short against Jefferson Davis County on Saturday and fell 59-46. The Hornets have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Canton will have to contain Charlisa Barney as she made an impact in Greenville's last game. She went 11 of 24 on her way to 27 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Barney continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatiahnna Wise, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 10 points and seven rebounds.
Canton has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Greenville, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Canton has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 34.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Greenville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 24.8 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
