The Prairie Central Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Bloomington Central Catholic Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Prairie Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Bloomington Central Catholic is ranked 83rd).
Prairie Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 21-13 to Monticello.
Prairie Central's defeat came about despite a quality game from Hudson Ault, who rushed for 169 yards while picking up 8.9 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, Bloomington Central Catholic got themselves on the board against Madison on Saturday, but Madison never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Trojans 55-0 on the road. The result was nothing new for Bloomington Central Catholic, who have now won six contests by 28 points or more so far this season.
Bloomington Central Catholic's victory bumped their season record to 8-0 while Prairie Central's defeat dropped theirs to 5-3.
Everything came up roses for Prairie Central against Bloomington Central Catholic in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 56-13 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Prairie Central since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
