After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hamilton, The Fairfax Lions were happy to have found some success on Friday. They strolled past Westchester with points to spare, taking the game 35-18. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Fairfax's seven-point performance the matchup before.
Among those leading the charge was Ivan Levant, who threw for 195 yards and five touchdowns on only 17 passes. Sebastian Ikolo was another key contributor, picking up 91 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Westchester's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Landon Davis, who rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown, and Dawan Scott who picked up 64 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Fairfax's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 View Park and 0-9 Canoga Park (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 13.3% over those games). As for Westchester, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Fairfax will head out on the road to face off against Venice at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Westchester, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hamilton at 7:30 p.m.
