Eagle's Landing Christian Academy extended the longest winning streak in A Region 5 this week by beating Strong Rock Christian, 69-6. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Eagle's Landing Christian Academy led the league in scoring this week after putting up 69 points on Strong Rock Christian.
Mount Vernon Presbyterian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Mustang feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Elijah Burnette has thrown for 464 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Browning Dunn has 11 catches for 180 yards. Burnette also leads the league in rushing with 769 yards.
Two highly touted recruits will be in the spotlight when Pace Academy and Jonathan Gess' team meet this week. The Knights features well-regarded sophomore Kevin Johnson while the Chargers has Isaac Rochell, a sought after defensive end.
A big matchup in A Region 5 this week will be when Landmark Christian takes on Holy Innocents Episcopal. At the moment, the War Eagles are in second, while the Golden Bears are in third.
Landmark Christian made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,701 from 5,132.
