Football Game Preview: Joaquin Rams vs. Elysian Fields Yellowjackets + How To Watch

The Joaquin Rams will be playing at home against the Elysian Fields Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,030 yards in their previous games.

Joaquin is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 41-8 win over Honey Grove. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won five games by 21 points or more so far this season.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Amarion Wilson and Jacob Gatlin. Wilson rushed for 106 yards and one score on only 12 carries while Gatlin rushed for 74 yards and one TD on only five carries. That's the most rushing yards Gatlin has posted since back in September.

Joaquin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 523 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 159 rushing yards in 17 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Elysian Fields ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Garrison 55-54. The victory was familiar territory for the Yellowjackets, who have now won three games in a row.

Joaquin better keep an eye on Nunu Kennedy. He was instrumental in Elysian Fields' win, rushing for 208 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and also throwing for 200 yards and a pair of TDs on only 17 passes. Alex Simmons was another key player, gaining 108 total yards.

Joaquin's record is now 8-4. As for Elysian Fields, their record now sits at 11-1.

Things could have been worse for Joaquin, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 29-14 loss to Elysian Fields in their previous meeting back in September of 2021.
