It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Ocean View Seahawks had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against Bolsa Grande by a score of 35-28. 35 seems to be a good number for Ocean View as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Ocean View's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was William Pardue IV, who rushed for 217 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. Pardue IV was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 61 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Trujillo, who rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns.
Several Matadors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ethan d Nguyen, who threw for 83 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was David Nguyen, who rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown.
The victory makes it two in a row for Ocean View and bumps their season record up to 6-6. As for Bolsa Grande, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
Ocean View will stay at home for another week and welcome Bell Gardens at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Bolsa Grande does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
