The Pasquotank County Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Hertford County 57-27. Pasquotank County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-10.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anylah Bowe, who dropped a double-double on 12 rebounds and 12 blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Veychara Eley, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Hertford County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Adarielle Townsell, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Townsell has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 17 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Brooklynn White, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Pasquotank County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Hertford County, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-5.
Pasquotank County will head out on the road to take on the Aces at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Holmes presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Panthers in North Carolina (the Aces are ranked 220th, while the Panthers are ranked 450th). As for Hertford County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northeastern is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
