The Dana Hills Dolphins entered their tilt with the El Toro Chargers with 15 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 16. Dana Hills enjoyed a cozy 79-65 victory over the Chargers on Friday. Given Dana Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Chargers are ranked 510th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Collin Haugh was his usual excellent self, scoring 34 points. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 19 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Scodeller, who almost dropped a triple-double on 14 points, nine rebounds, and 13 assists.
Despite the loss, El Toro had strong showings from William Siewert, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds, and Christien Jimenez, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Siewert has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan McMichael, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, El Toro smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dana Hills only pulled down two offensive rebounds.
Dana Hills pushed their record up to 24-4 with that victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.2 points per game. As for El Toro, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season.
Dana Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now. El Toro also has no future games currently scheduled.
