Basketball Recap: Richard Azu Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Ola

After losing to Ola the last time they met, Hampton decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Hampton Hornets took down the Ola Mustangs 61-46 on Thursday.

Hampton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Richard Azu, who posted 15 points. That's the most points Azu has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alando Richards, who earned 15 points.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kunta Jenkins, who put up ten points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jacqui Page, who had eight points.

Hampton's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Ola, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Hampton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-39 victory against Stockbridge on the 14th. As for Ola, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-67 win against Eagle's Landing Christian Academy on the 14th.
