Meanwhile, Cypress Creek scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past Mater Brighton Lakes Academy, posting a 67-14 victory at home. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Cypress Creek as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Cypress Creek's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Timberlyn Campbell, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylisse Lewis, who scored 12 points.
Winter Park's victory bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Cypress Creek, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Thursday's matchup is shaping up to be a scrappy game: Winter Park have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.5 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Cypress Creek, though, as they've been averaging only 3.1 rebounds per game. Given Winter Park's sizable advantage in that area, the Bears will need to find a way to close that gap.
Everything came up roses for Winter Park against the Bears in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 54-25 win. With Winter Park ahead 34-12 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
