The North Vikings will head out on the road to challenge the Springfield Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
North's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Monday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 53-29 loss at the hands of Maple Heights.
Meanwhile, Springfield had to suffer through a rough 62-27 loss at the hands of the Rockets. While losing is never fun, Springfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 548th, while the Rockets are ranked 135th).
North dropped their record down to 4-15 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.2 points per game. As for Springfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
North was dealt a bruising 49-12 defeat at the hands of the Spartans in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point North was down 25-4.
