After flying high against the Cairo-Durham Mustangs last Thursday, the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Indians came back down to earth. Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk took a 48-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cadets on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk of the 48-28 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Patricia Dorrance, who scored 11 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Hayden Wolfe, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for La Salle Institute, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk will take on the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cobleskill-Richmondville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for La Salle Institute, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Blackbirds at 6:30 p.m. Voorheesville is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
