Baseball Recap: Berlin Takes a Loss

Berlin fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Wautoma on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 11-10. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Hornets recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Toby Miller made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. He has become a key player for Berlin: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Westin Sawallish, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Berlin's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Wautoma, the victory got them back to even at 7-7-1.

While Berlin had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
