The Severance Silver Knights missed an extra point against the Roosevelt Roughriders on Friday and it came back to haunt them. Severance and Roosevelt were almost perfectly matched up, but Severance suffered an agonizing 28-27 defeat. Severance just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Ian Pennock and Jaden Hoffman, Severance certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Pennock rushed for 179 yards and a touchdown, while Hoffman threw for 206 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes.
Roosevelt had a senior duo take command as Xavier Ramirez rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns and Bronco Hartson rushed for 39 yards and a touchdown.
Severance's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Roosevelt, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.
Severance will head out on the road to face off against Mountain View at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain View is on a three-game streak of home losses, Severance a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Roosevelt will take on Thompson Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The pair might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games.
