The Loretto Mustangs entered their tilt with the Cornersville Bulldogs with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Loretto took their contest on the road on Thursday with ease, bagging a 64-26 victory over Cornersville. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Loretto has managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Loretto to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jenny Clifton, who scored 22 points. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Ally Weathers, who scored 16 points.
Loretto pushed their record up to 7-1 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.1 points per game. As for Cornersville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.
Loretto will be home for the holidays to greet Moore County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cornersville won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Spring Hill at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully Spring Hill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
