Basketball Recap: Riverdale Ridge Comes Up Short

Riverdale Ridge lost against Mead back in March of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Riverdale Ridge Ravens fell 67-55 to the Mead Mavericks. The Ravens 's loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Despite the loss, Riverdale Ridge still got an impressive performance from Dylan Nieto, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Nieto's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Williams, who posted nine points.

Mead was led to victory by Matthew Angelo and Max Windhorst. Angelo went 10 of 15 en route to 24 points along with seven boards and five assists, while Windhorst almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds. Those 23 points gave Windhorst a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of George Hubert, who put up 12 points and five boards.

Riverdale Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Mead, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-6.

Riverdale Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-55 win against Prairie View on the 9th. As for Mead, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 65-41 victory against Silver Creek on the 10th.
