Basketball Recap: Roncalli Drops Season-High Score on Danville

Roncalli extended their postseason success on Saturday against Danville. They took down the Danville Warriors 68-51. The Royals' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Roncalli's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brennah Cerny, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 16 points. What's more, Cerny also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Elliot Leffler, who went 7-for-14 en route to 17 points and six boards.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maddy Wethington, who went 5-for-11 on her way to 15 points. Emma Ancelet was another key player, putting up 14 points and five assists.

Roncalli has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 17-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points over those games. As for Danville, their loss dropped their record down to 20-6.

Looking ahead, Roncalli will challenge Cathedral at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Cathedral comes in on six and Roncalli on eight. Danville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
