The Onaga Buffaloes's ten-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Friday. They took down Flint Hills Christian 49-34. Onaga's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Onaga's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emmarsyn Fordham led the charge by scoring 11 points along with six rebounds. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. Bridgett Campbell was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
Onaga's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-5. As for Flint Hills Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
Onaga will head out on the road to face off against Troy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Troy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Onaga in Kansas (Troy is ranked 118th, while Onaga is ranked 293rd). As for Flint Hills Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Reno County HomeSchool on Friday.
