Pineapple Cove Classical Academy has not had much luck with Melbourne Central Catholic recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Matthew Barna, who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds. Anthony Bender was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Among those leading the charge was Hayden Deane, who scored 23 points along with 6 rebounds. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Lane, who scored 8 points along with 6 steals.
Pineapple Cove Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Melbourne Central Catholic, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pineapple Cove Classical Academy will take on St. Edward's at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Edward's is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Melbourne Central Catholic, they will play host again and welcome Mater Brighton Lakes Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
