They walked away with a 45-34 victory over Archbishop McCarthy. Given Gulliver Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while the Mavericks are ranked 373rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Gulliver Prep found their leader in underclassman Mikayla Brown, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Brown continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Caitlen Dauphin, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Gulliver Prep's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Archbishop McCarthy, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.
Gulliver Prep will take on the Conchs at TBD on Monday. Key West comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Archbishop McCarthy, they will square off against the Pioneers at TBD on Monday. North Miami is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
