After flying high against the Tipton Christian Academy Eagles on Tuesday, the Central Baptist Swordsmen came back down to earth. Central Baptist's tough 72-52 defeat to Franklin Road Christian on Saturday might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Central Baptist in their matchups with Franklin Road Christian: they've now lost four in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Franklin Road Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noah Pence, who scored 19 points along with 9 assists. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Pence has scored at least 25% of Franklin Road Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Ben Walker, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Central Baptist's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Franklin Road Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
