The Akron Rams will face off against the Holyoke Dragons at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Akron has five straight wins, Holyoke has 15 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Akron made easy work of Caliche and carried off a 14-1 victory. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Alex Bowin and Jakzon Livesay made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Bowin struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Livesay tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. At bat, Bowin went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one triple, while Livesay went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Bowin is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as he's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caleb Poss, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Jax Kusel was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
Akron hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Caliche struck out ten times.
Meanwhile, Holyoke lost 19-9 to Prairie on Monday. That's two games in a row now that the Dragons have lost by exactly ten runs.
Akron's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Holyoke, their loss dropped their record down to 0-14.
Akron skirted past Holyoke 12-10 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dragons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
