The result came thanks to Allison Keusch's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Maizie Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Abigail Niwata, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Sage Creek hadn't done well against Torrey Pines recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Bobcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Falcons. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bobcats.
Kassidy King spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Lola Carson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Torii Ramirez, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
