The Ridgedale Rockets gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against Vanlue by a score of 47-36.
Vanlue's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mara Simon, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Secord, who scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
Ridgedale's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Vanlue, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Ridgedale will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Buckeye Central at 6:00 p.m. As for Vanlue, they will head out on the road to face off against Bucyrus at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Bucyrus focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
