The Bangs Dragons will take on the Abilene Christian Panthers in a tournament on Saturday. Bangs is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Goldthwaite hit Bangs with a five-run third inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Dragons came up short against the Eagles, falling 12-3. Dragons fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Eagles since Saturday.
Boyd Diaz made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Abilene Christian made sure to put some runs up on the board against Winters on Friday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Blizzards with a sharp 17-1 victory. Considering the Panthers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Everett Martin made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Martin was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Bryce Blanco was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and six RBI. Kamdan Allen was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Bangs' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Abilene Christian, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
