The Douglass Eagles had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 88-74 win over Oxon Hill. Douglass' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Emmanuel Carson was his usual excellent self, scoring 36 points along with six rebounds. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Kwari Harvey was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven assists and five steals.
Douglass pushed their record up to 5-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 25.67 points. As for Oxon Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Douglass will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Potomac at 7:15 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Potomac comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Oxon Hill will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Pembroke Pines Charter at 11:30 a.m. on December 28th.
