If The Tylertown Chiefs were feeling good off their 35-0 takedown of the St. Patrick Fighting Irish last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Tylertown took a 39-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Perry Central on Thursday. Tylertown was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Perry Central apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Ausin Jones looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 79 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 88 yards and two touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes. Kameron Moody made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Tylertown has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Perry Central, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tylertown will take on Jefferson Davis County at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Jefferson Davis County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Tylertown in Mississippi (Jefferson Davis County is ranked 42nd, while Tylertown is ranked 167th). As for Perry Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Magee at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Hopefully Magee focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Thursday.
