Spring waltzed into their match on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They put the hurt on the Benjamin Davis Falcons with a sharp 12-2 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 21-0 back in March.

Spring got a great performance from Mikayla Zepeda as she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Zepeda has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hailey Jones-Calais, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Keona Jackson, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Spring was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .429 or higher in three consecutive games.

Spring pushed their record up to 10-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Benjamin Davis, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Coming up, Spring will challenge Eisenhower at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.43 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Benjamin Davis, they will square off against Dekaney at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season.
