Basketball Recap: Bloomfield Piles Up the Points Against Northwest

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bloomfield). They breezed by the Northwest Falcons to the tune of 72-17 on Saturday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bobcats as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Bloomfield got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Connor Castillo out in front who went 7 for 14 on his way to 14 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Cooks, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points and six rebounds.

Bloomfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Bloomfield's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Northwest, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloomfield will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rio Grande at 4:15 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Bloomfield has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Northwest also won't see the court for a while: their next contest is against Hozho Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025. Hozho Academy will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Northwest surely won't give up without a fight.
