The Mountain View Lobos won the last time they faced the Gadsden Panthers, and things went their way on Thursday too. Mountain View came out on top against Gadsden by a score of 36-27. The win was all the more spectacular given Mountain View's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 674th in Texas, while Gadsden is ranked 34th in New Mexico).
Mountain View can attribute much of their success to Bresais Escalante, who scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalia Salas, who scored 2 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Mountain View now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Gadsden, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Mountain View is on the road again on Friday and play against Fort Hancock at 5:00 p.m. on December 1st. Fort Hancock will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. As for Gadsden, they will square off against Chaparral at 3:00 a.m. on Friday.
