The Frisco Raccoons lost against the Wakeland Wolverines back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Frisco took a 41-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wakeland. While losing is never fun, Frisco can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 785th, while Wakeland is ranked 282nd).
Wakeland found their leader in underclassman Charlotte Cavin, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Cavin hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Chloe Chiniara, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Frisco has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-23 record this season. As for Wakeland, they pushed their record up to 25-8 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Frisco will square off against Reedy at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wakeland, they will be playing at home against The Colony at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Wakeland is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.6 points per game this season.
