This season hasn't been kind to the Burgin Bulldogs, who are still winless after their eighth game. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 57-56 to Columbus HomeSchool. While losing is never fun, Burgin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 271st in Kentucky, while Columbus HomeSchool is ranked 55th in Indiana).
It was another big night for Kaden Greenlee, who scored 27 points along with five rebounds and three steals for Columbus HomeSchool. The contest was Greenlee's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Nat Farnsley was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Burgin's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-8. As for Columbus HomeSchool, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Burgin will be home for the holidays to greet Brown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbus HomeSchool will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bluegrass United at 5:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
