The Tradition Prep Pirates lost against the Jupiter Warriors back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Tradition Prep lost to Jupiter on the road by a decisive 59-45 margin. While losing is never fun, Tradition Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 472nd, while Jupiter is ranked 47th).
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aydan Fields, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. Handy Petion was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Tradition Prep and nudges their season record down to 9-11. As for Jupiter, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tradition Prep won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Coral Springs Charter at 2:00 p.m. on January 27th. Coral Springs Charter is out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home. As for Jupiter, they will head out on the road to square off against Morningside Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Morningside Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
