Softball Recap: Southwest Guilford Wins Going Away Against Page

Southwest Guilford's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Page Pirates 26-5. The result was nothing new for the Cowboys, who have now won seven matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Caroline Christman made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Makayla Stefanik was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Aniya Harris was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Southwest Guilford's record now sits at 8-6. As for Page, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Southwest Guilford wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 21-2 victory against Western Guilford on the 1st. As for Page, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-3 loss against Ragsdale on the 1st.
