Brentwood is on a three-game streak of home wins, while the Patriots are on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Brentwood Bruins will take on the Page Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Brentwood beat the Knights 46-36. Given Brentwood's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Knights are ranked 106th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ella Ryan continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ava Jarrett, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Page put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Ravenwood 75-35 at home. While fans of Page might be used to big wins, the 40-point margin marked the team's biggest win yet this season.
Page's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mary Fox, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Fox also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Espelet, who scored 16 points along with six steals and five assists.
Brentwood's win bumped their record up to 19-3. As for Page, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Brentwood have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Page struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.3 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Brentwood came up short against the Patriots when the teams last played on Wednesday, falling 45-39. Will Brentwood have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
