The biggest upset of the week belonged to Stranahan, who took down 322nd ranked Stranahan, 13-6.
Hollywood Hills moved up to 357 from 401 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 6A District 15. The Spartans climbed the ranks as a result of a 13-6 win over the Mighty Dragons.
Archbishop McCarthy's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brandon Vicens threw for 75 yards and Frantz Petitpapa had 55 yards receiving. On the ground Vicens chipped in 191 yards. Justin Thomas helped Archbishop McCarthy's passing attack out by catching one ball for 21 yards.
Archbishop McCarthy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Mavericks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Vicens has thrown for 306 yards and one touchdown this season, while Petitpapa has 18 catches for 222 yards. Vicens also leads the league in rushing with 513 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Mavericks take on Pembroke Pines Charter. Archbishop McCarthy's offense has recorded 133 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Jaguars have permitted only 148 on the year.
A big matchup in 6A District 15 this week will be when Byron Walker's team takes on Pembroke Pines Charter. The Mavericks are currently in first, while Steve Bruns's team is in third.
There should be lots of points scored when Archbishop McCarthy and the Jaguars face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Mavericks comes in having scored 133 this season, while Pembroke Pines Charter has scored 29. Archbishop McCarthy scored 37 points last week as it topped North Broward Prep.
The Mavericks and the Eagles played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Mavericks eventually emerging with a 37-34 victory. Vicens in the win.
