Edgemont is on a three-game streak of home losses, the Tigers a seven-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Edgemont Moguls will take on the Oelrichs Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Dakota (Edgemont is ranked 154th, while the Tigers are ranked 157th).
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Edgemont beat the Irrigators 53-47. The victory was just what Edgemont needed coming off of a 47-19 loss in their prior matchup.
Keaton Darrow went supernova for Edgemont, almost dropping a double-double on 32 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Darrow has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Morse, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Oelrichs took a serious blow against the Warriors on Thursday, falling 55-24. Oelrichs was down 41-18 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Edgemont's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-13. As for Oelrichs, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.
Everything came up roses for Edgemont against the Tigers in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 60-27 victory. Will Edgemont repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
