Alameda is 8-2 against Bishop O'Dowd since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Hornets will look to defend their home field against the Dragons at 4:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.
Alameda took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against San Leandro as they made off with a 14-1 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Desiree Shoblo was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Wong, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.
Alameda was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .607. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Bishop O'Dowd waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Yellowjackets with a sharp 7-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Emma Brown looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jaella Mercado was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Blake Kellermann was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Alameda has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-8-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Bishop O'Dowd, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-5.
Bishop O'Dowd's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Alameda has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Bishop O'Dowd, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Alameda keep running through batters, or will the Dragons buck the trend?
Alameda came out on top in a nail-biter against Bishop O'Dowd when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 5-4. Do the Hornets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dragons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
