Coffee is 1-0 against Jenkins since October of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Coffee Trojans will look to defend their home field against the Jenkins Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Coffee is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Last Friday, Coffee got themselves on the board against Statesboro, but Statesboro never followed suit. They breezed by the Blue Devils on the road to the tune of 51-0. The result was nothing new for Coffee, who have now won five games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Fred Brown continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 166 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. Brown is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played. Anthony Paulk was another key contributor, rushing for 72 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Jenkins had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They didn't even let Greenbrier onto the board and left with a 24-0 victory on Friday. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Jenkins just coasted through the last quarter.
Jenkins can attribute much of their success to Jayaun Albert, who rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Albert was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah James, who gained 104 total yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Coffee to 7-0 and Jenkins to 2-5.
Everything came up roses for Coffee against Jenkins when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 42-7 win. Does Coffee have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jenkins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
