Box Elder is 1-9 against Bountiful since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Box Elder Bees will look to defend their home court against the Bountiful RedHawks at 5:15 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Box Elder comes in on four and Bountiful on nine.
Last Wednesday, Box Elder strolled past Roy with points to spare, taking the game 43-27. Given Box Elder's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while Roy is ranked 92nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Kaydence Barber, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Kamri Andersen, who scored ten points along with two steals.
In what's become a running theme this season, Bountiful gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They blew past Woods Cross 74-53. The score was close at the half, but Bountiful pulled away in the second half with 42 points.
Bountiful relied on the efforts of Taylor Harvey, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds, and Milika Satuala, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Satuala has scored all season. Adelaide Stevenson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with four steals.
Box Elder's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. As for Bountiful, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Box Elder have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Bountiful struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.7 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Box Elder suffered a grim 69-46 defeat to Bountiful when the teams last played on January 3rd. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Box Elder was down 42-20.
