Start waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Emmanuel Christian Warriors. That's two games straight that the Spartans have won by exactly five runs.

Braden Bowman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Bryce Creecy was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Start is undefeated when Creecy posts two or more runs, but 1-3-1 otherwise. Lucas Buck was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Start's victory bumped their record up to 5-3-1. As for Emmanuel Christian, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

Coming up, Start will head out to take on Rogers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Emmanuel Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Stryker at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
