Pine Creek suffered their closest defeat since March 20, 2025 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Cheyenne Mountain Hawks by a score of 20-18. On the bright side, the 18- run performance marked the Eagles' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Pine Creek got a massive performance out of Troy Peerey, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That double was Peerey's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Tristan Mullis, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Pine Creek and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Cheyenne Mountain, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Pine Creek has already played their next game, a 10-0 win against Lebanon on the 23rd. As for Cheyenne Mountain, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Air Academy at 4:00 p.m. on April 7.
