Englewood has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Parker Braves at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Even though Englewood has not done well against Wolfson recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Englewood can attribute much of their success to Nima Kargbo, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Parker, who are still winless after their tenth game. They were dealt a 63-13 defeat at the hands of St. Augustine on Friday. While losing is never fun, Parker can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 576th, while St. Augustine is ranked 85th).
Englewood's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-11. As for Parker, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-10.
Englewood was dealt a bruising 52-22 defeat at the hands of Parker in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Englewood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
