Caldwell is 9-1 against West Elk since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Caldwell Bluejays will be playing at home against the West Elk Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Caldwell scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They snuck past South Haven with a 62-57 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Jackson Risley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Newell, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, West Elk didn't have too much trouble with Udall at home on Tuesday as they won 52-36. The win made it back-to-back wins for West Elk.
Caldwell's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for West Elk, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Caldwell was able to grind out a solid win over West Elk in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 57-46. Will Caldwell repeat their success, or does West Elk have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
