The West Springfield Spartans lost against the Alexandria City Titans back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. West Springfield suffered a tough 70-49 loss at the hands of Alexandria City. West Springfield has not had much luck with Alexandria City recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Alexandria City was led to victory by Darius Bivins and Kye Robinson. Bivins scored ten points along with three steals, while Robinson scored 17 points. Bivins is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. Teko Bostick Jr was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
West Springfield dropped their record down to 5-16 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Alexandria City, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-5.
West Springfield will be playing at home against Lake Braddock at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Virginia (Lake Braddock is ranked 287th, while West Springfield is ranked 267th). Alexandria City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
