It was a proper cat-fight when Lakeland Preparatory took on Southwind on Monday. The Lions never let the Jaguars get on the board and left with  a   9-0  victory. The result was nothing new for Lakeland Preparatory, who have now won 11 matches by three  goals or more  so far this season.
Their offense was hitting Southwind from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal.  Ava Brennan led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by herself.
Lakeland Preparatory is  on a roll lately: they've  won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4-2 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one  goal over those nine  matchups. As for Southwind, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeland Preparatory will welcome St. Benedict at Auburndale  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Southwind, they will look to defend their home pitch  on Thursday against Crosstown  at 5:00  p.m.
