Monmouth-Roseville's game  last Friday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Friday. They blew past the Newman Central Catholic Comets, posting  a  40-7 win. It was another big night for  Landon Montroy, who rushed for 169 yards and three  scores while picking up 7.0 yards per carry. That's the most  rushing yards  he has posted since back in September.
 Monmouth-Roseville's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB  three times.  Asa Braun refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5  sacks all by himself. Monmouth-Roseville got some further help from  Nick Huston: he picked up  a  sack and made 14 total tackles (4.0 for loss) in addition to snagging  an  interception.
Monmouth-Roseville pushed their record up to 8-1 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.2 points. As for Newman Central Catholic,  the  defeat snapped their winning streak at three games  and leaves them with a 7-2 record.
As of now, neither Monmouth-Roseville nor the Comets have any future games scheduled.
